With Chucky season 3 confirmed, information on the returning cast, story details, and other Chucky season 3 news anxiously awaited. Chucky continues the legacy of the Child's Play franchise, which follows a murderous doll. The spirit of serial killer Charles Lee Ray possessed a Good Guy doll in the original 1988 movie via a soul-transferring ritual. The film franchise continued with six more installments (excluding a 2019 remake). The Chucky TV series is set after the events of the last movie in canon, 2017's Cult of Chucky. In this spinoff, which debuted simultaneously on both Syfy and USA Network in October 2021, the titular doll terrorizes Charles Lee Ray's New Jersey hometown.

Other characters from the Child's Play movies, like Tiffany Valentine and Nica Pierce, appear in Chucky seasons 1 and 2, adding to the chaos. Additionally, multiple Chuckys also exist due to him continually taking over other people and dolls. In season 1, Chucky goes on a killing spree and attempts to take over hospitals. As 14-year-old Jake Wheeler and his friends attempt to navigate the after-effects of Chucky season 1's trauma, the title character tries to push them all to the point of becoming murderers themselves. Viewers can watch Chucky on multiple streaming websites, and after its successful and bloody season 2, they can look forward to Chucky season 3.

Chucky season 3 is confirmed. Chucky season 2 finished airing in November 2022, gaining the highest Rotten Tomatoes score of all Child's Play media. The season received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics, and it didn't take long for Syfy and USA Network to renew Chucky for season 3. On January 15, 2023, showrunners confirmed Chucky season 3 on the Chucky character's official X (formerly Twitter) page with a 32-second clip. The series will continue with Don Mancini as the story's creator, writer, showrunner, and director.

Chucky Season 3 Release Date When Chucky first announced the Chucky season 3 renewal news, the clip included the words "coming Fall 2023" in the video title. While it was expected that the Chucky season 3 release date would be close to October, it was also expected that there might be delays as the cast would have had to stop filming earlier than expected. Chucky season 3, however, will premiere on October 4, 2023 on both SyFy and USA networks. New episodes will be available to stream the next day on Peacock. Chucky Season 3 Cast

Brad Dourif as Chucky, Zackary Arthur as Jake Wheeler, Björgvin Arnarson as Devon Evans, Alyvia Alyn Lind as Lexy Cross, and Teo Briones as Junior Wheeler in Chucky TV Show On the day Syfy announced Chucky season 3, Fiona Dourif posted a photo on Instagram of herself in costume as Nica with the caption, "See you kids season 3 🔪🔪🔪."

Given that post, it's believed that Dourif will return. Based on other social media updates from May 2023, Jennifer Tilly will also return as Tiffany Valentine in Chucky season 3. Instagram posts from Alyvia Alyn Lind also imply that Zackary Arthur will be back as Jake Wheeler, Björgvin Arnarson will appear as Devon Evans, and Lind will return as Lexy Cross.

On May 15, Jennifer Tilly, who plays Tiffany Valentine, confirmed her involvement in Chucky season 3 on her social media accounts. Her involvement was also confirmed by Chucky himself in the Chucky season 3 trailer featuring his press conference.

On Instagram, Jennifer Tilly posted a photo of herself in an airport with a suitcase, and a Chucky doll standing behind her. The caption states, "Me n' Chucky are on the move." Jennifer Tilly posted the same photo on Twitter with the caption "Me n' #Chucky are headed for Toronto." Though Brad Dourif's return as Chucky seems obvious, Tilly was the first additional cast member to confirm their involvement in Chucky season 3.

Other actors have implied their involvement on social media as well. On Instagram, Alyvia Alyn Lind posted photos of herself, Zackary Arthur, and Björgvin Arnarson in Toronto on May 5, 2023, and May 24, 2023. While these posts include zero references to Chucky, it's unlikely that the three would coincidentally all be together in Toronto at the same time as filming. It's more likely that the main trio is returning for Chucky season 3.

Additionally, it's almost definite that Brad Dourif will come back as Chucky's voice, though this hasn't officially been confirmed. On top of these confirmed and rumored returns, characters with unresolved storylines from Chucky season 2 will likely return. Based on the events of the season 2 finale, Carina Battrick will probably be back as Lexy's sister, Caroline Cross. Annie Briggs should also return as Mrs. Fairchild.

It's unknown which legacy characters will return other than Tiffany and Nica. Christine Elise as Kyle Barclay and Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay have the potential to come back. However, it's unlikely given their convention obligations during the summer of 2023. Don Mancini told USA Insider, "There are others, there are potentials on deck. Stay tuned." As such, fans of the Child's Play films can expect to see old faces in Chucky season 3.

Chucky Season 3 Story

Writer Don Mancini has remained tight-lipped about the Chucky season 3 plot synopsis. Moreover, the initial Chucky promo on Twitter gave zero indication of what will happen. However, looking back at the end of Chucky season 2 might point viewers in the right direction. Lexy just lost her mother in the finale. With her maintaining her sobriety, the show will likely explore the effect of stress and trauma on Lexy's substance use disorder (SUD).

Viewers also experience another deeply traumatized character: Nica. In Chucky season 2, she seemed to want revenge on Chucky and Tiffany for ruining her life and holding her hostage. She tells Tiffany over the phone that she plans to torture and kill her for what she did. This plot line will probably come to fruition in Chucky season 3.

Additionally, the show will almost certainly follow Caroline's journey with Tiffany. In the Chucky season 2 finale, Caroline comes to the aid of Tiffany, betraying her sister. She reveals that Chucky convinced her that she's actually Tiffany's daughter. The young girl went on to threaten the main trio for killing Chucky Prime. Viewers might see a more ruthless and cold-blooded version of Caroline in Chucky season 3. On the other side of this conflict, Mrs. Fairchild agreed to help Lexy, Jake, and Devon save Caroline from the evil dolls. It remains to be seen how they intend to get Lexy's sister back. It's also not clear how all of this will happen if the Chucky season 3 story is set to make the move to Washington, DC as the new Chucky season 3 trailer implies.

Chucky Season 3 Trailer

The first teaser trailer for Chucky season 3 was posted to the Chucky character's Twitter account as an announcement that the show was continuing in the Fall of 2023. SyFy also posted the same teaser on YouTube, but that version is a little longer and features an appearance from Chucky on screen. Extending from the voiceover line "I always come back," he continues by saying, "Subscribe, dammit. I'll be back. I always come back. And so should you, ya moron." Since the tease for Chucky's return, however, a new Chucky season 3 trailer has debuted.

The new Chucky season 3 trailer teases some new details for the season. It’s a unique idea for a teaser rather than simply sharing new footage with the audience. Chucky himself holds a press conference and pokes fun at those who might argue killer dolls have oversaturated the media with Chucky’s resurgence and the success of the movie Megan. He only answers a handful of questions during the clip before it’s cut for him to go after one of the reporters in the audience.

The trailer confirms that Jennifer Tilly will be back for the new season, though it is vague on whether Devon Sawa will return. Chucky’s reply of “Who?” to the question of the actor’s return could imply that he’s not in season 3, it could also mean that Sawa is simply playing another new character. No other actors are confirmed in the trailer, which is also interesting since that leaves a lot of room for fans of the series to speculate.

Chucky season 3 will also move to a new location. Chucky’s press conference is held because the season will (at least partly) take place in DC. The poster released alongside the trailer and the phone number (201-500-3347) that encourages fans to sign up for text alerts about the show echo political campaigns, following the theme of Chucky heading to Washington, DC. Chucky season 3 is sure to be very different from the first two seasons of the series as a result.
