Since the announcement of the definitive end, practically all the cast members have been saddened and, at the same time, grateful for having been part of one of the most important sitcoms in history.

Jim Parsons admits there were disputes after the finale was revealed

In an interview with Yahoo, the actor explains how he felt when he told his co-stars that he had decided to end his time on the show."It's never nice to hear that you've done something that made someone angry or sad. But I did what I had to do and it was the best way to deal with it. To be honest, we weren't the kind of group where I felt the need to have a group meeting beforehand," he says.

On the other hand, he admits that social media portrayed an image that didn't really correspond to what was going on, meaning that it wasn't always all fine words once it became known that the end was near and that Parsons was the main cause. He also talks about the possibility that the show could have continued without him, something that would have caused a great stir and which Parsons says a part of him would have been happy about.
